01 — OVERVIEW

APL’s rotogravure LED UV application brings UV coating into the printing line. It supports registered coating and decorative effects such as glitter and embossed UV, allowing the finishing operation to be planned with the printing process.

The system is described for inline jobs that would otherwise require a separate offline coating operation. Gloss, adhesion, slip and curing consistency are central to the application. APL should confirm the coating chemistry, required deposit, press speed and curing arrangement for the effect you want to produce.
