APL’s 3D Foil Evolution machine combines hot foil, cold foil and cast-and-cure processes for decorative print finishing. It is designed to add metallic and patterned effects to packaging and other printed work.
The reference format lists a maximum sheet size of 20 × 30 inches, with a 40 × 60-inch option, and a minimum of 7 × 11 inches. APL states an output of 900 impressions per hour for the reference machine. Foil-saving operation is described; the actual production result depends on the design and selected process.
